This afternoon we inaugurate the new Archaeological Museum of the City of Denia!
The museographic proposal that runs through “Dianivm, Daniya, Dénia…. Una ciutat de mar estant”, has been designed in our studio and moves the collections previously located in the Castle of Dénia to its new home in Cavallers street, in the Palace of the Duchess Valero de Palma, recently restored and converted into a museum.
In the new museum you will find a journey through the history of Denia, starting with the first known settlement in prehistoric times, from the settlement of l’Alt de Benimaquia to its role as a port and privileged enclave of the Mediterranean.
This new accessible space not only preserves the history of the city, but also serves as a preview of a future project that will expand the exhibition discourse and museum collection, offering a more complete view of the town’s incredible archaeological holdings.
