The exhibition “Dynasties. The First Kingdoms of Prehistoric Europe”. bid farewell to MARQ with great success, having welcomed more than 60,700 visitors who enjoyed a unique journey through the cultural transition between the Copper Age and the Bronze Age at the European level. In the studio, we designed a museography that transformed three rooms of the Alicante museum into an immersive experience, revealing the origins of the first power structures in Europe and capturing the attention of a wide audience.
This exhibition, which was a great success, brought together 482 pieces from 20 European museums, including the Schifferstadt gold hat and the replica of the Nebra Disc. Each object was integrated into an architectural space designed to intertwine history and design, highlighting the political and social values of the time.
In the first room, visitors appreciated a narrative design that displayed emblematic artifacts, such as the copper halberd – the first object created specifically for combat – and the gold diadem from Quinta da Água Brava, a Portuguese national treasure. This space generated an architectural dialogue between history, place and early economies, immersing the public in the social and cultural context of the first European kingdoms.
From Rocamora Museography, we thank all those who explored this experience and were part of this celebration of the value of archaeology and museum design at its best.
