The Archaeological Museum of Guardamar MAG houses an important collection of pieces from the archaeological sites of the town, among which are important historical sites such as La Fonteta or La Rábita.

The design for the remodeling of the new room of Rome, “Sinus Ilicitanus- The Archaeology of the Sea”, highlights the value of the Romanization process in this area, where the amphorae stand out among its materials, reflecting an economic base based on trade, which developed throughout the Mediterranean and left its mark on the coasts of Guardamar, where the underwater archaeological remains take on a special role in the room.

The vertical arrangement of these fragments, which offer so much scientific information, allows the exhibition of a large volume of pieces in a reduced space, as well as the visualization of these fragments individually and as a whole, distinguishing between typologies and shapes.

In addition, large-format photographic images, taken on the coast of Guardamar, accompany the pieces, creating an immersive space.
